40 of the best malt and grain whiskeys are left to age in oak casks, before being skilfully blended in order to get Bell’s characteristic rich nose, warm taste, and long finish. Every malt in Bell’s has aged at least 8 years in oak casks, previously used for sherry and bourbon. Bell’s owes its rich and deep flavor to the single-malt whiskeys, contributing to 40% of the blend. The malt found in Bell’s base comes from the Blair Athol distillery and gives it a rich, fruity flavor. The main malts of the Talisker distillery, on the other side, add a slight note of smoke.
