Built in 1897 in a picturesque mountain area, the Dalwhinnie is the highest distillery in Scotland (400 meters above sea level). The name “Dalwhinnie” comes from the Celtic word “Dail Chuinnidh”, which means “intersection point” and refers to the place where old cart paths once crossed between two mountain ranges. Year after year, the distillery survives the coldest conditions and produces soft, golden like a heather honey whiskey.
