Fine lowlands malt – the perfect aperitif that is served cold. Founded in 1837, the Glenkinchie Distillery is located just 15 miles south of Edinburgh, in the middle of the East Lothian barley fields known as the Garden of Scotland. In general, Lowland malts are considered to mature faster than others and are often pale-colored and lighter. These characteristics and the dry aftertaste make them an excellent aperitif. • Style: Discreet • Short: Light and dry, discreet spices • Color: Pale Gold • Aroma: Slightly sweet aroma with barley malt, strong green grass, and streams of autumn smoke • Taste: Slightly dry but fresh, late spring fruits and harvested fields, young wood, and malt barley. • Aftertaste: Surprisingly warm aftertaste, dry with smoky spiciness.
