J&B Rare is unique with its high content of carefully selected malt whisky from the valley of the River Spey, which forms the heart of the blend and contributes its exceptional smoothness and elegant nose. J&B Rare’s blend contains forty-two whiskeys – six grain and thirty-six malt. 80% of the malt whiskeys in the region are from the region of the river Spey. J&B Rare’s label doesn’t have an age identifier – its youngest whiskeys in the blend are the grain ones, aged five years, and some of the malt ones have aged eight years. J&B Rare has a fragrant, fruity nose, and its taste is distinguished by its nuances of fruit and vanilla. It has an exceptional balance, with a smooth, yet long finish.
