CARDHU

Cardhu is a Scottish single malt whisky brand founded in 1824 in the Speyside region by John and Helen Cumming. This distillery is one of the most significant in the region and holds an important place in whisky history, with Helen Cumming regarded as one of the first women to play an active role in distillation. The name “Cardhu” comes from Gaelic and means “black rock,” reflecting the natural landscape of the area.

Cardhu whisky is known for its smooth and balanced taste, characteristic of Speyside whiskies. The aroma offers delicate fruit notes of apple and pear, alongside honey, vanilla, and caramel, with a subtle malty finish. Less smoky than whiskies from other regions, Cardhu is approachable and well-suited for both new enthusiasts and experienced connoisseurs. Its most famous expression, Cardhu 12-Year-Old Single Malt, is recognized for its smooth, sweet, and malty profile.

An integral part of Diageo’s portfolio, Cardhu is also a key component in Johnnie Walker blends. With its unique heritage and character, Cardhu continues to be beloved for its gentle, harmonious style, making it emblematic of the Speyside region.
