Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, the Champagne house Krug was built on the philosophy of uncompromising quality. Joseph Krug’s dream was to create the best possible champagne every year, regardless of annual climate variations. He achieved this by paying close attention to the unique character of each vineyard, respecting the individuality of every plot of land, and creating an extensive library of reserve wines from multiple vintages.
By blending wines from different years, Krug was able to craft a complexity of aromas and flavors that would be impossible to express with the wines from a single vintage alone. This vision gave birth to the first edition of Krug Grande Cuvée – the richest expression of champagne.
For six generations, the Krug family has continued this dream, continually enriching the vision and craftsmanship of the founder, ensuring that each bottle of Krug champagne remains an exceptional blend of tradition, innovation, and luxury.
