Located in Entrecasteaux, in the heart of the Côtes de Provence wine-producing region, Clos de Caille is a family-owned winery with a limited production that emphasizes the high quality of its wines.
Founded in 1160 by the Cistercian monks from the Abbey of Thoronet, people have been cultivating vineyards here for over 850 years. The name Clos de Caille comes from the word “caillou” (pebble), highlighting the geological features of the land.
Over the centuries, the complexity of the clay-limestone soils and the mild Mediterranean climate have blessed the land with optimal conditions for creating exceptional wines. The Mariotti family owns the vineyards, and through their daily efforts, they manage to showcase the generosity of this unique terroir in their wines.
The diverse selection of grape varieties they cultivate includes Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, Rolle, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Mourvèdre. With controlled yields, each vine produces a reduced amount of grapes to enhance its aromatic qualities.
