The winery opened its doors in 2018. Perched on a high hill above the village of Glavan in the northwestern part of the Sakar Mountains, this family-owned boutique winery is the only one in the region with a hotel, gourmet restaurant, and relaxation area.
The Southern Sakar region is renowned for its rich and powerful red wines made from Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, as well as Mavrud.
The main wine collections of the winery are DOGMA, ZAARA ESTATE, and CAUZA. Dogma offers a selection of diverse wines – both single varietals (Tamjanka, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, Mavrud, and more) and blends. Among the bestsellers are Tamjanka and Syrah, Syrah Rosé, and from the blends, the highly-rated combination of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Carmenere.
Zaara Estate also produces the first Bulgarian wine aged at the bottom of the Black Sea – the BLACK SEA AGED series. The result not only accelerates the aging process but also enhances the freshness, rounding, lengthens the aftertaste, and harmonizes the wine. In addition to its exceptional taste, this unique wine impresses with its bottle, with final design touches inspired by the sea itself.
The CAUZA series supports a different social cause every year. For the next two years, the cause will focus on selecting and supporting projects that help revive the villages of the Sakar region.
The winery’s vineyards were planted in 2015, meaning the wines of Zaara Estate are already showing their potential and depth. They charm with freshness, clean varietal character, and a true expression of the terroir.
